Lesley Moffat

Bio:

Lesley Moffat is the author of I Love My Job But it is Killing Me: The Teacher's Guide to Conquering Chronic Stress and Sickness. As a high school band director in her fourth decade of teaching, she has built an active music program that performs at venues like Carnegie Hall, Disney Theme Parks, International Music Festivals, and more.

Building this program while raising three of her own children took tons of time and energy, resulting in chronic health conditions ranging from weight gain and chronic pain to anxiety and depression and more. Several years ago, she got to the point where she had to drastically turn her health around or she wouldn't have been able to continue teaching because of the toll.

She wrote this book and founded the mPowered Music Educator Academy where she works with other music teachers to help them build successful programs without burning out so that other teachers don't have to spend years struggling to balance it all.
